Resting Places is built from open data. This page credits every source and states how each is used.
Wikidata
Structured facts (names, locations, coordinates, founding dates, area, heritage status, official websites, notable interments, and external identifiers) come from Wikidata, published under theCC0 1.0 public domain dedication. Every cemetery page links its source item.
Wikimedia Commons
Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons. Each image's license is verified through the Commons API before display, each image carries an inline credit and license link where it appears, and the complete inventory is on the image credits page.
OpenStreetMap
Fallback coordinates for a small number of entries come from OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoder. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Pages using these coordinates say so in their facts table.
Wikipedia
We link to Wikipedia articles for narrative history. We do not reproduce Wikipedia's text, which is licensed CC BY-SA; descriptions on this site are original and derived from the structured facts above.
Google Places
No Google Places content is currently displayed. If live opening hours are added in the future, they will be fetched through the Places API, displayed with the attribution Google's terms require, and stamped with the date they were checked.
Find a Grave and BillionGraves
Some pages link to Find a Grave as an external reference. We do not ingest, scrape, or republish content or photographs from Find a Grave, BillionGraves, or any genealogy service; the link identifier itself comes from Wikidata's CC0 records.
